Ellen Siebers’ works weave connections between memory, landscape, and psychological interiority. The artist immerses herself in the beauty of her surroundings and fragments of memories to create pieces where abstraction and figuration blend harmoniously. Working on multiple canvases simultaneously, she composes her creations like constellations, each piece engaging in a subtle dialogue with the others.
Her approach, enriched by a cinematic sensibility, reveals multiple perspectives that open windows onto the worlds she envisions. In her paintings, time, sensations, and dreams intertwine, blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination. Siebers invites the viewer on an introspective journey through an ambiguous universe, where each individual perception becomes the key to interpreting reality.
Often painted in oil with delicate glazes and refined textures, her works offer a subtle materiality where color and substance resonate. Inspired by her wanderings in nature and her own introspection, she captures the essence of lived moments and translates them into paintings that are both intimate and universal. Her work invites the viewer into a meditative experience, where each gaze upon the canvas becomes a meeting with one’s own memory and buried emotions.
