Waldemar Zimbelmann explores an artistic universe where figuration and abstraction mingle, drawing on a delicate, nuanced visual language. His works are distinguished by their texture and three-dimensional application of paint, characteristic of his technique. The artist uses the method of overpainting, superposing layers of material to reveal patterns and planes through material extraction. Sgraffito, an engraving technique, enables him to trace figurative forms while playing with color. W. Zimbelmann’s work is marked by a fusion of shapes, bodies, time and space. He incorporates a variety of elements into his compositions, including animals, houses, landscapes and fictional portraits. Silent yet expressive, his figures establish a subtle dialogue with the viewer. The viewer is invited to plunge into these imaginary worlds, embodying human emotions.
